Other Signs Your Child Might Have OCD
OCD may begin as early as preschool but is more common among children in middle school or high school, and in those approaching young adulthood. In addition to obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors, there are other warning signs of OCD that a parent or guardian can watch for. For example, it may be time to call a counselor if the child is:
- Struggling to focus in class or complete homework
- Finding it difficult to fall asleep at night
- Isolating themself from friends and family members
- Struggling with other mental health disorders such as anxiety and/or depression
Unfortunately, OCD is not a disorder that you can “wait out.” It will not go away without treatment and support. If you want to help your child overcome their obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors, please call us to schedule a meet and greet. We want to help you find the perfect counselor to connect with your child so that you can both see progress and feel hope for better days.
