Social Skills

What is it?

Social skills are the ability to navigate interactions with others that lead to a sense of belonging, being seen and heard, and connecting meaningfully with others.

3 Reasons it Matters

  1. When you connect healthily with others, you meet the deeply human need to be seen and heard by others. This is wonderfully affirming and validating.
  2. You can build a sense of community even if it’s with only one person. Having a “bestie” or a go-to friend who we know is there for us, and vice versa, is inherently satisfying.
  3. Social skills play a crucial role in shaping the type of legacy you leave behind in this world. Maya Angelou said, “People will not remember what we said but how we made them feel.”
