PTSD
What is it?
When you experience a singular traumatic event, such as an accident or violence, or witness a traumatic death, you may develop what’s known as Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, or PTSD.
3 Reasons it Matters
- PTSD can cause you to feel triggered by non-traumatic events. You may also experience nightmares or flashbacks.
- You may find yourself avoiding certain triggers that remind you of the traumatic event, which can keep you from enjoying a full life.
- This disorder can hijack your mind with intrusive thoughts and cause you to worry, feel depressed, or develop anxiety.
