IFS Therapy

What is it?

IFS Therapy, developed by Dr. Richard Schwartz, is based on the view that the mind and body are a system of “parts”, each with its own contribution to a person’s well-being.

3 Reasons it Matters

  1. IFS Therapy facilitates deep emotional healing by addressing root causes of symptoms, searching for the “thing under the thing”. IFS is trauma-focused and non-pathologizing.
  2. It cultivates self-compassion and acceptance. The core belief of IFS is that even the worst-behaving “parts” are actually well-intentioned to help us in some way.
  3. Through IFS Therapy, growth and healing found within the internal system can then be applied to the external social systems of family and work.
